    THE POSITION
    We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Utilities Operations Coordinator within the Utilities Department. All Town utilities field work is contracted to Jacobs. In this position, you will provide day-to-day oversight and management of the Town's utilities contractor responsible for water, wastewater and reclaimed/recharge water systems and treatment facilities.If you have a desire to put your operational skills to work and serve our community, we encourage you to apply.

    Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    • Perform oversight of the operations and maintenance contract of the water, wastewater, reclaimed, and recharge water system. This includes ensuring the operations contractor meets all obligations stipulated in the contract. Provide Town input and coordinate contractor efforts with other Town Departments on special projects, water system shutdowns and startup of new capital projects and improvements.


    ·Ensure that monitoring and reporting requirements for the water system and wastewater systems are met; review regulatory reports prepared by the contract company.

    ·Engage and collaborate with the contractor's executive leadership, project managers, supervisory staff and field technicians.

    ·Investigate customer complaints/issues, work with the Customer Accounts Division and provide information to resolve customer concerns and to address insurance claims. Assist with keeping efficient communication and work order processes between the contractor and the Customer Accounts Division.

    ·Review contractor maintenance program data for optimizing and organizing the maintenance of assets such as pumps, tanks, wells, lift stations, wastewater treatment plant, booster pump stations and any other applicable utilities facilities.

    • Collaborate with contractor regarding the operation of the utilities systems to meet water and wastewater demands, and optimal efficiencies to ensure reliable and cost effective operations.


    Typical Qualification

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the utilities industry with a minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience required.


    • Grade 4 ADEQ certification in at least one of the following: Water Distribution, Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.


    • Must possess or obtain upon employment, a valid AZ driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment background check including driving record.


    • Must have the ability to be contacted and to respond in a timely manner in an after-hour capacity.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Multiple Certifications in Water Distribution, Water Treatment, Wastewater Collections and/or Wastewater Treatment.


    Compensation:

    The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

    The full salary range is $81,411-$113,984 depending on experience and internal equity.
